do these sound like hot flushes

I think I am getting hot flushes. Some seem to be pretty classic (I have had hot flushes in the past due to some medication that brought on a temporary menopause so I remember how they felt): These start in my face, and spread lower, and only last a minute or two.

But I am also getting burning, hot cheeks (facial!) and I am not sure if this is a hot flush. It can last for hours, and my cheeks feel hot to the touch and look red too, but it doesn't spread elsewhere. Not related to drinking red wine

I also find that I get loads of hot flushes some days, and none or very few on others. Is this usual?

My hot flushes start at my neck and then spread throughout my whole body and last about a minute or so. I know when one is coming as I get an intense feeling of nausea just before one starts. I've been four years peri and now I have gone eleven months without a period and the flushes are now hardly noticeable and I have started to feel a whole lot better. Compared to this time last year I feel like I'm coming out the other side.

Hmmm, a bit different then. Anyone else?

Your burning cheeks sound more like rosacea which can start up with hormonal changes. Have a google- you can and should get treatment for it.
See your GP and / or a referral to a dermo.

Hot flushes tend to come and go as oestrogen levels swing around at erratic levels during peri. You may find when you have a normal cycle, you won't have any for weeks then wham they'll come back and bite you on the bum :)

I have recently been getting what I think may be hot flushes. Mainly evening and nighttime it is like someone has pressed a switch and tuned on four bar fire inside and I get hot very quickly from head and moving all the way to my feet. I am usually a really cold person and it is a novelty to not need socks and a water bottle in bed. Sometimes my ears go red and hot too. Weird.
