Breast changes and the menopause

I've read that menopause may cause breast changes, including pain and thickening of the tissue. Can this be in just one breast? Am currently waiting for a breast clinic appointment with these symptoms, obviously panicking and looking for benign explanations.

Can you recall where you read that? I've never heard that, in fact the opposite is the case; breasts lose density and firmness due to loss of oestrogen usually.

I hope you get on okay as it must be worrying.
