Peri menopause, ovulation pain

Is it normal to have constant ovulation pain , often both sides? It sometimes stops one side with the other taking over, but sometimes is both sides. No sign of cysts. Can't find anything televant on google.

No it's not. You should see your GP it might be nothing to do with ovulation.

Thanks. They've done cyst checks, all clear, but it's rather tedious, wakes one up at night, been going on for several months now. Not related to diet or digestion as far as I can see.

How tedious getting older is, when things start to crumble.

I'll pursue further.

I've recently seen a menopause/gynae specialist. This came up in conversation as I said to her that it felt like I was going through phases of it feeling as though I was about to ovulate then disappearing then coming back. Mind you, not bad enough to wake me up at night.

She was unconcerned and explained it as being due to cycling hormone levels. So going up and down but not enough to make me ovulate.

In fact I had an internal at that appointment and afterwards my ovaries were twinging. She massively increased my dose of oestrogen and it seems to have abated.

Obviously that's just my experience but it may be worthwhile asking for a referral to a gynae if you haven't seen one already.

Also, my ovulation type pains were worse if I was constipated (sorry TMI) which was a side effect of iron tablets.

That's really helpful. Yes, I'm on morphine ATM with predictable effects and it worsened a bit. I'm just perplexed as to why both sides simultaneously.

I want to be the female of the sort of sea horse where the male carries the babies when I'm reincarnated.
