No periods for at least 3 years (may be more!) hot flushes, mood swings, tired but second lot of blood tests results still within "normal range"

Mood swings being particularly awful at the moment with me bursting into tears for no reason and having a horrible temper Blush

Have you seen the news today? 'Forty tests drs shouldn't do'.

www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-37732497

Blood tests for meno if you are 45+ is on the list :)
Reason- they aren't accurate.

Your GP is supposed to treat symptoms. They only tests if you are under 45 because the advice is that HRT is essential for that age group, for long term prevention of serious disease.

If you have no medical reason to avoid HRT then it ought to help. Have you tried all the other self-help stuff like exercise , good diet, not smoking, cutting down on alcohol? if not, try those first but if you don't feel better then HRT is another option.
