Short cycles and endless spotting

I was just wondering if anyone else was affected by this?

My cycles are down to roughly every 3 weeks. That, I can cope with and periods are a normal length, slightly shorter perhaps.

What is driving me mad is the several days of spotting before the period as well as after.

DH is one of those men who won't come near me at the slightest sign of bleeding so sex wise, I'm out of action for all but a week out of every month. He used to so this is beginning to seriously piss me off but that's a whole other thread.

Has anyone experienced this and had success with any of the options?

I think everyone has a different peri- and menopause. After decades of 23-day regularity my periods are lately like London buses - you wait for ages and 3 come at once. I'm not terribly worried myself about the erratic nature of my cycles now but if you are there might be ways you can regulate your cycles - maybe with a birth control pill? Sorry I can't be much more help but just letting you know that changes in your cycles sound completely normal.

Thank you. Can over 40s take the pill now?

Anything is worth a try, it's driving me mad.

I am not a medical expert but I'm pretty sure |I did myself after having DD (2 days before my 40th). I know others over 40 who have/do.
