I'm 50, have had the mirena coil for 3 years (for heavy periods, clots, flooding etc)
I have no periods at all now but I'm sure I'm menopausal.
I have aching bones, I'm hot and sweaty all the timeBlush constantly tired and very forgetful!
But if I've got the coil how will I know if my periods have naturally finished? I don't want to go back to the pre coil days!

You can use oestrogen (patches or gel) with mirena to help with sweats etc. and might make you feel better. Have a look at menopause matters website www.menopausematters.co.uk/progestogens.php and see your doctor. When the mirena runs out, you can reassess what is going on.

TBH, menopause is only the last menstrual period and you can only know a year after the 'event' that it was the last, so no one really knows at the time Smile

Other symptoms start well before and continue afterwards.
