Hi I am looking for some advice. I am 51, have not had a period for 15 months so must be menopausal. I would like to go on HRT, I suffer from aches/pains, lack of sex drive & sleep, night sweats, etc. I tick all the boxes for Menopause and maybe lack of testosterone. I am looking for advice as I may have a major melt down tomorrow if the doctor says no and I just wnat to make sure she helps me get sorted out. Some of the symptoms are causing me problems with my relationship as you can imagine. Thank you xx

I have been reading the BMS journal Post Reproductive Health which is about putting the NICE guidelines into practice. Worth a read (all available online). min.sagepub.com/content/22/2.toc

Which sections of the link were you reading? The editorial at the top or the other sections?

From what I can see, each section is just a repetition of the NICE guidelines. In the section on breast cancer, for example, the author highlights the trials that were of low value, small studies etc etc , but all that is in the NICE original report, in the small print. Is the link for doctors perhaps so they don't have to wade through the entire NICE report and this makes it easier reading for them?

Hello, I had my appointment on Friday to get the results of all of the blood tests, I am perfectly healthy so I must be menopausal. This doctor I saw was lovely, slightly older then me so knew what it feels. I have been prescribed Femoston Conti and have taken my first tablet today. I am feeling optimistic and hope these will help me get back to the old me and just like Polly Perky said I will be looking at my lifestyle/diet and hopefully if they work I will feel more energised and not ache everywhere. I have to go back in 3 months. Thank you to everyone xx
