Vaginal bleeding when coughing - is this menopause related?

It's happened to me twice recently, I thought I'd leaked urine when coughing but it was a sizeable amount of bright red fresh blood. Not period related as that finished 8 days ago. However I'm using the coil and so periods are a bit haphazard to be honest. I'm 47 so wondered if this was menopause related although I have no other obvious symptoms yet. I know I've got a small fibroid as I had to have a scan when my old coil strings went on holiday and had it removed and a new one put in under anaesthetic late last year.

Has anyone else had any experience of this or is it a trip to the GP for unexplained bleeding?
