Sudden short luteal phase?

Is this a menopause thing? I know exactly when I ovulated, but my period has shown up eight days later. A usual luteal phase for me is 14 to 16 days, sometimes 18 days. I know cycles often shorten, but thought it was usually the bit before ovulation that shortened?

I've been suspecting for a few months perimenopause might be upon me - aching limbs, general blah and fuzziheadedness.

Ah well, at least I have plenty of chocolate to shovel in my fat face.

I think it can be either or both.

Thank you.

Stupid cycles. Why can't they just invent an off button?
