start of menopause?

I'm 47 and for the last few years have noticed my periods have gone from 5 days to 4 in length, often with day 1 being very light, a bit like a faltering start. My cycle has always been short about 24 days but today after only 14 days I have started a full on sudden period. I guess it's probably menopausal but do you need to see a GP to confirm this or just let nature get on with it?

I wouldn't (haven't) seen a doctor about this type of thing. It is a life stage, not an illness and unless you are seeking a medical solution for unbearable symptoms there isn't much point. You shold obviously seek help if you think it is something more sinister.

My mum still has hot flushes at 80+.
I think she'd have gone through an awful lot of ice.

and you re use ice packs , just put them back in the freezer.

oh and work out which table in your favourite pub/restaurant has an opening window next it, and which places have outside dinning.

Oh dear quote it sounds like I won't be needing my thermals in the next few years!

Have been feeling a bit emotional about the whole idea today but I guess that's just another symptom. Will my ever thickening middle stop now things are clearly altering or get worse do you think?

Oh you do need the thermals because here the thing everything has an equal and opposite reaction, you go from freezing to unable to think because you are so hot(hit the fan) and then back again, (layers are your friend)

Just take up more really fun excise. make sure it's fun so you want to do it, (ladies session at our indoor climbing wall is hilarious fun followed by cake, and keeps all expansion away, beginners and experts together laughing)
