Hold on folks. Does the perimenopause really make you fart?
This is an added indignity no one told me about
(the last time it happened like this was using progesterone supplements during pregnancy...)

Never heard of that. Why do you ask?

PollyPerky · 09/02/2016 07:53

Have you never farted before in your life then?
Total bollocks.

"About half of all menopausal women report they experience increased flatulence. While the overwhelming numbers of the related disturbance cannot be waived, the actual reasons might or might not be related to the menopause related health conditions. It is possible that the declining estrogen levels could be the cause. At the same time, it might also be due to the aging digestive system that might produce more gas for many middle-aged people of both genders. Another possible cause could be changes in diet, coming with lifestyle adjustments."

Apparently.

maybe it's more to do with poor PF muscles and farts slipping out more easily? I think it happens to blokes too Grin

Never heard of that. Could it be something you're eating or drinking. Dairy upsets my digestion terribly.
