I am 50 years old and had my last period in August 2013, today I have for the first time in nearly 2 years had a show of bleeding not heavy, should I be worried? i have never had a blood test to see if I am post menopause as when my period stopped (48) my doctor told me if I go a full 12 months then I am in menopause.

You should see your dr for advice as soon as possible and possibly a scan to see what's going on.
The 'rule' is that any bleeding after 12 months without a period ought to be checked out. As you had an early-ish menopause ( average age is 51-52 so 48 was on the early side) then it could just be a surge in hormones but you do need to talk to your dr.
