Endometriosis, perimenopause - what is this?

I discovered about 7 years ago that I had bad endometriosis and had it treated (successfully) by laser ablation. What prompted me to get it investigated was a gap in my periods and then I had a period that went on for over a month, so I got referred to a gynaecologist. Since then I've had a DC but I had a scan about a year ago which showed the endometriosis was growing back. I haven't had a period for a couple of months now (I'm 42) and am wondering if this is menopause (I feel fine, no symptoms and it seems a bit early - no family history of early menopause as far as I know) or whether it's endometriosis. At the same time the GP thinks I may have lichen sclerosus, so I need to go back and see the gynae anyway (I haven't seen anyone since having my DD two years ago) but am wondering if anyone on MN has expertise in this area? I am a bit unsure what to do as I have had very regular periods my whole life apart from the endometriosis episode and when pregnant. I am definitely not pregnant.
