Hot flaps. Do I need a stronger patch?

Okay, so have been on Estradot patches for about a year (50). For the past few months though, I ve been waking more in the night, having hot sweats though - and here's the thing - they're mostly confined to (tmi) my thigh and vulva area. So much so, it feels really itchy on account of the sweating. During the day it s all normal. Do I need a stronger patch do you think?

I've been on these patches for 8 years and have never had any increase in sweats which just shows how different everyone is! Also may depend on where you are in menopause as 2 years following last period ie menopause, oestrogen drops down to the low level it is going to stay at for the next umpteen years so some women notice a resurgence of symptoms at this stage ( ie 2 years following ovaries packing up). If the sweats are sufficient to interfere with your ability to function then maybe an increase in dose would help. Also vaginal oestrogen (Vagifem or estriol cream) should sort out problems or itchiness in that area. I use full HRT as well as local oestrogen. Types listed here:

Wanted to share your pain - I get this sometimes too and understand how it can drive you mad. Considering HRT - at the moment find a good douse with cold water can help (but doesn't help the ensuing sleeplessness)
