I'm 48. 6 dc, and periods are slightly irregular every few months. Mostly still 4 weeks to the day but last 2 were 3 weeks apart and now this one is missing at 4 weeks and 1 day.

I fell pregnant last September at 2 weeks shy of my 48th birthday but sadly miscarried at 11 weeks. :(

The past few days I have been experiencing what I can only describe as what I imagine a hot flush would feel like. I just start to feel warm, mostly just my face, it's over in less than a minute I guess but it's happening throughout the day, I'd say up to 10 times a day.

Is this it? The beginning of the end? Shall I buy some carpet slippers?

I dont get hot flushes, but periods have become erratic and much longer, although lighter, they just dribble on and on

Sorry for your loss.

Yes it sounds like the start of it, I have been having hot flushes for a few years and very irregular cycle.

lia66 · 21/04/2015 22:36

I'm so sorry you lost your baby Flowers

I'm 44. My periods started getting closer together and much, much lighter about a year ago. Some months I could get by just using a light sanitary towel (used to buy Super Plus tampons). And my periods only last 3 days now (used to last 6 days).

Still no hot flashes as yet. But I have started experiencing poor sleep and even insomnia on occasion. Hair feels more brittle and fly away too.
