period late this month then going on for weeks.......??

am 48, have been experiencing irregular periods on and off for 2 years, goes a bit off then settles down, misses one then comes back to normal, then comes early....then normal again

was worried about this so had an internal scan from a gynae doctor 18 months ago, scanned inside and all around lining of womb etc and said everything was normal, also had smear test come back normal a year ago

things settled down, then this month was late, then normal period, then very light bleeding since, like a very light continuation of the period, for over 2 weeks, keep thinking it'll stop but hasn't so far

dr said previously the thing to sort out periods is the coil, but so dont want that

have no other peri meno symptoms, sleep fine, no flushes etc, just this period that isnt stopping so far, no pain or heavy bleeding, no swollen tummy

would the pill sort out the irregular bleeding if this goes on for months? this is the first time this has happened, although similar happened 2 years ago but hasnt happened since

its like spotting after period should have ended? kind if like an on/off period?

I used to have this kind of thing. Acupuncture fixed it.

think will see how it goes, but am a terrible terrible worrier and am imagining the worst

thats very interesting chazzer, I hadnt considered this, was thinking more the mini pill or something to settle it down, although this is early days and its just happened this month, so will try to stop mind panicking...
