Age you started periods related to peri age?

Sorry if this has been done before, I am a newish lurker to this topic.
I am early 40s and have the Mirena coil but have noticed some changes re mood, weight etc over last year or so.
My periods began when I was 11, just wondering if there is any correlation between age of periods and age of menopause?
Any thoughts or experiences?

I once read that in general, the later you start, the earlier you finish. I have no idea if that is substantiated by research.

I started my periods late (over 15 and had a one year gap between the first 2) and started having peri symptoms in my early 40's. Whole thing done and dusted now and have been on HRT since I was 47.

I have endometriosis which has, as they predicted, improved since menopause Smile

Early start often means late finish and vice versa.

I was nearly 12 when my periods started. I was 42 when I noticed my periods were gettingighter and closer together. I also started suffering with peri menopause symptoms of insomnia, anxiety, low mood for a couple of weeks each month.
