Bladdered. HRT & Alcohol

I got bladdered at what was supposed to be a nice afternoon of drinks and nibbles with the neighbors yesterday. I drank a good amount-about a bottle of wine, over 4 hours, with food, but I was completely rat arsed and rather embarrassing by all accounts. Normally I would be merry but not totally shitfaced after a bottle.
I started HRT (patches, Evorel Sequi) a week ago and I'm wondering if this has anything to do with it as having researched it on the Internet it seems that I'm not the first to have a lowered tolerance for alcohol.
Has anyone else experienced this?

Think you need to look at this another way- HRT only tops up what your normal levels would have been. Many people - I understand- have a reduced tolerance to alcohol as they get older. so it's more likely that it's that, and you won't have had the full benefits of HRT as you are so new to it.

I don't know if you are aware but alcohol after the menopause is implicated in breast cancer and carries a higher risk than HRT.

There is some info here which shows the risks in a graph.
