I have had a bad year with all sorts of stresses, bereavement, building work, work troubles, child with medical issues etc so I know it hasn't been easy. However, I have hit a brick wall running and am off work with personal stress/anxiety. So aside from dealing with the above I now need to focus on me!
Symptomatically, I have waves of feeling hot/cold, headaches, irritability, anger, frustration, palpitations, worsening severity of pmt, tiredness (fatigue), loss of drive, sleep disturbances ie rolling about and waking up early feeling so hot like I have a fever. My periods were 28 day cycles until I had a multiple birth four yrs ago (naturally) but the last couple of years have gone from 20-55 day cycles but now 75 days have gone by.
Bloods show levels of FSH 27, LH 44 and oestradiol at 1600.
All this is giving me anxiety feelings with some minor panic feelings at work. Am I perimenopausal? if so, what can I do to feel better?

See a doctor.

why did you have blood tests? was it the surgery? did they advise any further?

Blood tests done to see where I am in my hormonal state as my periods have stopped . I have had no surgery. I am awaiting my gp appt but have the results which I think may suggest perimenopause. My grandmother had early menopause but my mother had a hysterectomy so not sure on her natural menopause age.
I am trying to get some info so I can discuss this with some knowledge ie if perimenopausal do you start HRT now or at a later point? It was mentioned by gp that I would have 10yrs of HRT if I have hit menopause!

Your blood tests seem a bit odd- the normal levels of oestrodiol are given here

www.newhealthguide.org/Normal-Estrogen-Levels.html

You haven't really stopped having periods- you've effectively missed 2 ( 2 x 35 days-ish) - and this could carry on with a stop-start pattern for years.

Blood tests are pretty unreliable because another test in a month may say something different.

I think the honest answer is that you may be peri meno OR your body may be knackered with stress and this often causes hiccups to cycles.

If you are post-meno ( no period for 12 months) then yes you do need HRT for 10 years at least to protect your heart and bones due to POF. But if they are stop-start until you are late 40s or 50 then it's going to be your choice depending on how you can cope with the symptoms you have.
