Flooding 4th week and counting

All my reproductive years I have had brilliant, regular, no prob periods. I went 6 months free and thought I was going to be home and dry. However 4 weeks ago I started flooding to my feet and I am having to change pads etc every hour (expensive!!). Worried this will never stop. Please reassure me it might. During the six months of peace I had a clinic appt and biopsies and all fine, so bleeding not due to sinister reasons. I can't take the pill or mirena coil and would like to know other folks experience. First time mumsnet

Think you need to move this so people can see it

Reymax59 · 04/10/2014 11:56

How do I do that?

mrssmith79 · 04/10/2014 11:59

Click on the 3 dots and report your own post - include a message saying you've posted it in the wrong section and can it be moved Wink

Reymax59 · 04/10/2014 12:02

Sorry , three dots? Sorry for being dense.

mrssmith79 · 04/10/2014 12:09

Are you on the mobile site? If so there should be 3 blue dots in the bottom right corner of your post. Clicking on it opens a menu with a Report option. If you're on desktop on any other version you'll just have to have a fiddle around until you find the Report button - I only use mobile so not sure where it'll be.

Site Stuff is the only bit of the whole site that does get regularly checked by Mods as it's for communicating with them! So someone will come along in a minute and help move this.

Meanwhile has anyone ever said Tranexamic Acid to you? If not ask about it from GP or at clinic.

RustyDalek · 04/10/2014 12:14

On desktop the Report button is on the other end of the blue bar with your username on.

Reymax59 · 04/10/2014 12:16

Think I've reported in right place thank you!

Hi Reyma59,

Thanks (and well done!) for reporting your thread. We'll be moving it over to our Menopause topic shortly, where you should get plenty of support. Thanks

Hi there
That sounds awful- 4 weeks and no sign of it stopping?
How old are you?
I'm a bit confused why you had a biopsy when you were not having any bleeding for 6 months.
You really need to go back to your GP now- and ask for more help perhaps from a gynae. There is no need to put up with this and you shouldn't!

A biopsy would show changes such as cancer or pre cancer in the uterine lining but again, not sure why they tested you for that when you weren't bleeding- it's what they do if someone is bleeding at odd times of the cycle.

There are lots of treatments for heavy periods but you need to find out the cause.
