I'm on the contraceptive implant, generally get on well with it (this is my second one) and have very light sporadic periods. Period turned up on Friday, no problem. On Sunday, I was out with one of the DCs and felt a bit of wetness. Again, no bother, we're on our way back to the car so I'll sort it out when we get home. Driving home, I got a sudden flood, right through my sanitary towel, knickers and trousers and onto the car seat (thank god for wipe-clean leather car seats Smile). Dashed into the toilet at home, passed a couple of clots and had a heavy flow for most of the rest of the day. Then all back to normal (apart from a conversation I hadn't planned on with 6yo DD...).

So how do I tell if it's the start of the menopause if I'm on hormonal contraceptive? FWIW, I'm 43 and my mother had a reassonably early menopause at about the same age.

oh poor you.

I'd pop along to the docs TBH because flooding of any kind needs to be investigated. Could be fibroids or hormonal imbalance for example.
