HRT after total hysterectomy and hair loss

Hi there

had total hysterectomy 13 weeks ago and been on oestrogen HRT daily since surgery.
I'm 47 and had hyst. due to endometriosis and adenomyosis

My hair is falling out of my head in clumps, rather like it does after child-birth, and while i've got plenty and the loss isn't noticeable, I think it maybe related to HRT?

I've recently had thyroid function test which came back 'normal' but GP is keeping eye on my blood count, due another test this week.

I'm extraordinarily tired still, needing a nap most days still. And I mean need, i can't function, fall asleep in the chair sort of tired.

Anyone else have these symptoms?

Hair loss can be hormone related but it can also be a result of trauma/ shock to the body. It won't be the HRT that is causing it but more likely too low a dose because oestrogen makes hair grow, not the opposite.
Did you have your ovaries removed too- presume yes as you said 'total'.

Hair loss can also as you say be linked to low thyroid and anaemia.

It is probably due to the sudden and huge loss of your own hormones after surgery. The HRT will be putting some back but you will prob need to wait a few months for it to really work.
