After a blood test, I've been told by my GP that I'm now menopausal and not perimenopausal as I assumed being only 48, with high FSH levels.....and after consideration I'm doing the HRT patch thing along with my Mirena coil as I just can't cope with the symptoms. Anyone else struggling with vaginal dryness/itchiness and complete loss of libido??? Please say there is.... It was never that great anyway but now I have absolutely no interest and would be quite happy at this point if I never had to do have sex again. Quite hard on my other half as I don't even have the faintest glimmer of feeling like it anymore. It's like someone turned off all my lights. No point in mentioning the other symptoms as they pale into insignificance.

I'm on patches and coil, libido has definitely declined drastically and I had a lot of cystitis in the beginning. Higher hrt sorted the cystitis pretty much. Libido - well I just have to work a bit harder to remind myself how much I enjoy it when I get going, and how important it is to both of us.

The blood tests are not always accurate- you may find that you still have some natural periods for some years.

something like 1:4 women on HRT also need vaginal HRT- cream or small pessaries with oestrogen- to help the symptoms there.

Give your HRT a few months but if you need vaginal oestrogen go back and ask.
