So quick history..period cycle got shorter and shorter and visit to GP last october showed early menopause signs (I am 39 so also it is premature) so I was advised to try the pill to kick start things and see what happened..I did that and after three months stopped it and then had no periods for six months. Made an appt with gp, but in the meantime had a period..she said still need HRT as six month gap between periods is too long. So picked up px today but now getting period due type symptoms (which would be about 26 day cycle since last one)..if this becomes a period, should I still start the hrt in next few days or not?? Dont want to bother her again as from what she said I could be on hrt and still have the odd "real" period anyway??? If you arent confused and can advise, I would love to hear any thoughts! Thanks.

I'm 39 and was diagnosed as being perimenopausal at age 37. I was advised to start HRT. Started taking it 4 months ago as i couldn't stand the menopausal symptoms anymore, been bloody awful!
I was having irregular periods before starting the HRT, roughly had one every 6 weeks to 8 weeks. I started my HRT on the day i started my period. I get a withdrawl bleed at the end of each pack for a few days, similar to a light period. Not sure if iv'e had a 'real' period sice iv'e been on it but my last period was a bit strange. I bled for a week and it seemed more like a natural period.
you should begin the HRT as soon as your period starts.

Thanks...period symptoms gone now anyway so will make a start on it if nothing happens in next few days! Hopefully it will level out my moods and help me get some sleep!!
