I'm 50 and have entered a phase of hot flushes and haven't had a period in about 4 months. When I search on line and on MN, it seems quite doom 'n gloom and lots of stories about how long it can go on (15 years of hot flushes etc etc). Now I'm here, I just want it to be over! Has anyone experienced a really short menopause??

I'm trying Menopace ArgyMargy. I'm like a lady fountain. I HATE it!

There is no way of knowing really.
Some women have no symptoms, some go on for a couple of years, others- like my mum- were having flushes well into their late 70s, so over 25 years. My gynae told me that some women never ever get rid of their symptoms (unless they use HRT.)
I've been on HRT for 6 years and when I try to cut back to half the dose the insomnia comes back so afraid I'm not able to tell you anything about a short meno.
