Severe mid cycle pain

I'm 46 and for the past few months I have been experiencing severe mid-cycle pain. It's so bad I can't sleep. It's a sharp pain, not crampy and everything feels bloated. It's just agony. Is this normal? No sure if I need to go to GP or not but for 2-3 days each month it's driving me crazy. Any advice appreciated.

Just been for a walk and every step felt like I was being stabbed in my abdomen. Any advice if this is normal or not? doesn't feel like it to me :-(

I get it too and have had ovulation pain ever since having dd 8 years ago. I can usually tell you which side I'm ovulating from. Last month was pretty bad and other months it's just a twinge. I'm was under a gynae for endometriosis and have had scans for that so I know in my case it's all normal. Might be worth seeing your GP?

I get this too, a few days of very bad pain, midcycle sometimes right side, sometimes left. Can't run or walk fast with the pain, and just want a hottie on my tum.
I've always had it though and take ibuprofen for it.
I had a scan also. They fond a small cyst in my womb, but nothing round the ovaries.

Sorry not to be more help, but sometimes knowing were not the only one can help a bit?

I've just posted another thread about this! I get it too - I can tell which side too. Glad I'm not too unusual! Smile

I also get this. It's getting worse. I have had a scan all clear.
