I'm 46 and for the last 12 months my periods have been very heavy but VERY regular. Can pinpoint the day it will start every month.

However last months was considerably lighter, and now I'm 6 days late. I did POAS this am - negative. Would have been amazed if positive as Dh has had a vasectomy- but just in case.

I have had a couple of times when I've woken up really hot at night but no sweats. Have been moody and snappy- assumed pms but no period.
Also have noticed bit more forgetful than usual.

Does this sound like start of menopause and really stupid question- should I go to GP or just see how things go!?

Same age as you and only went to see gp last week - no period since March and amongst other shit I am in agony with painful joints.

I don't know when we should see GP... It's not like pregnancy when it's all planned out for you..

I would go see now.... Just to document your problems and don't do what I did and put everything you felt down to menopause- I needed up on coronary care with malignant hypertension.....I did feel a bit "off" and put it all down to the change!
