I have heard that the above is extremely good for feeling uptight and anxious i.e. mood swings during the perimenopausal years. I am 50. I still get regular periods but have observed this ongoing feature in my personality for a good few years now and it is getting worse.

I am not depressed as such. It is moody and anxious I feel. Gnarled up like I wish to tear the strips of someone who gets in my way! Horrid mmmmnnn lol.

I am on a mild antidepressant although I am not depressed as such but I get anxiety with occasional depressions but that is an ongoing feature as I am borderline Asperger's syndrome (undiagnosed but I have the done the Autism Questionnaire online).

I am also on a medium strength blood pressure tablet - should either of these interfere with the black cohosh does anybody know?

Also what strength dose should I go for if Menoherb is not in stock in Holland & Barrett.

That is the only symptom I get of the perimenopause but it is ruining my quality of life I feel like having a go at people for no apparent reason!!

I feel I am holding it together the whole time and sometimes I need to sit down and cry for no reason either.

I really would like to go out and buy it asap but worried it will react with my tablets (conventional) I take Lofepramine 140 mg and 10 mg Amlodipine.

Sorry there is so much 'I' - please do forgive any of you helpful mumsnetters out there!

Hope everyone is having a relaxing Bank Holiday weekend .....!
