Peri menopausal & tissue clump in period

I'm 52 and just started my 6th period in the space of a year.

I use a mooncup, and when I emptied it just now, I found a clump of tissue about the size of my thumbnail. It's like a piece of raw steak (sorry if tmi).

I have put it in a bag in the freezer to take to the GP รข?? any idea if this is normal?

I did some googling and wonder if it's part of the wall of the womb which has built up and come out as my periods are now so infrequent.
