I'm 47, I have never been to the doctor so am not officially diagnosed, my last period 3mths ago after being rather erratic for about a year, suffering from frequent hot flushes day and night, no sex drive at all, weight gain, tired all the time, itchy skin, however mood swings do seem to have settled down.
Would you recommend HRT? Or what else works for you?Does it help with low libido and/ weight gain or just mood and hot flushes?

Hi Izzi. I am about a year and a half without periods. Its has been relatively ok. I make sure I eat unprocessed foods as much as possible. I take Vogel St. Johns Wort Tincture (better than tablets) which helps with mood swings and keeps me upbeat. Other than that I just try to enjoy life. I don't personally think I will ever take HRT. If your body is starting to reduce hormones within the body then it must be for a good reason surely. Putting artificial hormones back into the body at this time just doesn't make sense to me. But each of us is different and we all have different experiences. I would do lots of research into menopause and do what feels best for you. It is a natural process though.
