I've just started Evorel Sequi to try to do something about perimenopause. The worst symptom by far is rotten sleep and restless legs. Has anyone else had trouble with restless legs and has HRT helped with sleep in general? Am desperate for some good quality zzzzzzz

Hi there. I have had terrible restless legs plus some involuntary spasm-type movements in my legs that drove me (and my DP) mad at night. It got to the stage that he was sleeping in the spare room as I was driving him mad with my fidgeting and leg kicks!

I started on HRT last week (Kliovance) and I have seen a marked improvement already. I was experiencing terrible insomnia as well as restless legs and I am pleased that things seem to be improving. I still get a bit fidgety but nowhere near as bad as before HRT. And DP has been sleeping in the same bed as me so things are definitely looking up.

My HRT is the one for women who are post menopause as my periods ended quite a few years ago (I am 55).

Hi this might be an older thread now but I had terrible restless legs and turned out to be anaemic. It's a symptom of anaemia. If you also have heavy periods it could be anaemia. I now take four iron tablets a day and hardly ever get them.
