Elleste Duet and Vagifem

Hi
I've been on Elleste Duet for about 8 months and this has greatly helped with night sweats and the rage. I've been to the docs today after massive itching and have been prescribed Vagifem for vaginal atrophy. Does this mean I am effectively taking two lots of HRT? Anybody else take both?

I've also been prescribed fluoxetine for depression and the doc said there should be no problem taking all 3. Again, would welcome some reassurance this is the case.

Thanks

vagifem is local treatment and only affects the tissues of the vagina. It is also a very small amount.

If you have vagifem on its own, you do not need progestogen.

Sometimes, systemic hrt treatment does not help with vaginal symptoms and you need the vagifem, (or gynest, or estring) as well. Quite a lot of women need both.

Hope the itching goes soon.
