Hi. Can anyone help?? Periods stopped about 10 months ago, get hot flushes, mood swings and all the other horrors, then had some spotting, no pains or anything, done some reading and scared the life out of myself with what it could be, I was thinking spotting prob quite normal!! Anyone had similar?? Be v grateful for any feedback.

What could spotting mean? The menopause is actually 1 day. It's the day when you haven't had a period for a year. Then you can say you've been though the menopause. So you are currently in peri-menopause (I'm there too!). I would assume spotting fairly normal too... what could it mean?

Hello,
I think it is worth mentioning it to your doctor to be on the safe side. There are various things that could cause the bleeding always best to have it checked out. Good luck.

Sorry to bring bad news but you are not yet menopausal :)

That's the title you can have when you have had 12 months without any kind of bleeding. or 2 years if you are under 50.

So what you have had is a mini period- often without ovulation so no pain etc.
