Hi I have been using gel with a progesterone for 4 months now. I currently use three pumps a day as with two. I was still getting the off hot flush. I haven't had a flush for some time now and I am beginning to wonder if I can get away with two now.

Does anyone now how long it takes for thee oestrogen to drop so I will know Thoughts would be appreciated.

I don't know much but I went through early menopause and after no flushes for about three months, to be cautious, I went lower. How long is 'some time now'?

Just try it- you should see any difference in a few days.

It doesn't matter what anyone else does- it's what suits you. The dose is between 2-4 pumps. My gynae told me to use whatever worked up to the maximum- anything from half a pump to the max.

When I spoke to my gp she said I was on a high dose at two pumps maybe its because I am 52. I am going to increase it to three as I hate feeling on edge all the time

My dr is a consultant gynae.

The normal dose is 2 pumps and age has nothing to do with it. You aren't old anyway- some women are using it in their 60s or older.

2 pumps give 1.5mcgs of oestodiol.

menopause matters

This compares with patches or pills that are either 1mcg, 2 mcgs and sometimes higher. 1mcg is the lowest dose for a pill, so 1.5 is not high for 2 pumps and 3 pumps is only slightly higher.
