Menopause and Insommnia

Morning all,
My doctor has put me on Elleste duet 1mg to try to combat the chronic insommnia I have had for past 4 months (averaging 2 hours sleep a night!). I also have terrible hot flushes and mood swings. Has anybody on here benefited from this HRT for insommnia. I have been taking it for a week now, I have a slight improvement (taking 3 hours to get off to sleep now) instead of staying awake until 5 am, then getting an hour before setting off to work which has been my life since end of August! Cheers

Yes me!
HRT was the answer to my lack of sleep- though nowhere as bad as yours.
I always used to go to sleep very quickly- in 5 minutes or less. Then with the meno it was taking me up to an hour, and I'd wake every couple of hours during the night. I had hot flushes hourly all day. I've been on HRT now for 5 years and whenever I try to reduce the dose a little the poor sleep starts all over. Let's hope it works for you, but you need to give it 3-6 months to see if it does.
