I'm nearly 50, look good (ish) for my age, have spent a few months getting a decent wardrobe together that fits and flatters and I don't know why I bother.

Can't be arsed to get up and showered never mind made-up and dressed up. I have no social life at all (new to area) and I'm bored rigid.

Baby step suggestions please - and no, I'm not depressed, just bored stiff and feeling old :(

Baby steps are fine Cauliwauli. Be prepared to feel a bit out of sorts as you enter out of your comfort zone. Don't worry about that, it is normal. Hope it is anyway!
If you are too ambitious straight away things can look overwhelming and perhaps stop you from doing anything.

Give yourself a small goal and take things from there...

Why don't you have a look at your local MN page and see if there are any MNetters who live near you? Then organise a meet up. There are plenty of us here in our late 40s and 50s - we're not all running around with babies in buggies!
