8 weeks on HRT

Hi I have been on HRT for 8 weeks. started on patches but had to change after 3 weeks as I was allergic to them big time. I was then put onto Gel and Progesterone. I started to pick up but the prog brought me back down again. the GP told me to change them and start on them straight away. I then got a period out of syn which stopped in time for me to start my withdrawal bleed.

I have now started to get panic attacks and constant anxiety - I wonder if its because I have had so many changes in 8 weeks the flushes and sleep has only just go better.

Any advice would be great

It'd be quite odd for a progesterone to bring on panic attacks - you might get PMT type symptoms . I think you said you were on Uterogestan- this is a bio identical progesterone so it's the same as what you'd produce normally.

If you had panic attacks etc before the meno then yes. I suppose it could be that.

What type of progesterone are you on?
Do you take it daily or just for part of the cycle?

for two weeks but unfortunately I started on the second week - they changed it as I was having problems. I think I may need to wait a little longer as I have only been on gel for five weeks - things have improved no fuzzy head and my sleep is better along with my appetite, its just the sweats have appeared but that could still be my cycle struggling a bit - I hope

Sorry- can't be much help if you don't say what you were taking and what you are taking now.

When I started the menopausal symptom the specialist tried all sorts, from ones that allow you to have periods and others that don't, to patches, it took around six months to find that Evorel 50 patches worked (although not ideal as I still have a womb) but in the meantime I was up and down irritable and miserable but once we found the right thing it took about 3 months and I have been good since (8 years).

I was also on Vagifem pessaries for vaginal dryness, I was so bad at the time that the tissues inside were so dry and paper thin that they tore.

I stopped the vagifem about two years ago but noticed that the pain and dryness has returned and gone back on it.

If you persist with it I am sure you will improve tremendously within a few more weeks-if not maybe try another visit to the GP or ask to see a specialist, best of luck..

Hi I was on femseven but developed an allergic reaction and was put on Estrogel two pumps a day with provera 10mg after 3 weeks of patches. I was put on utresterone 200mg half way through the two weeks I was taking it at the same time as getting a bleed two weeks early.

I think you need to give it time. How often do you take the utrogestan? You should be able to take it for 7 -10 days a month only for it to have the right effect.

. is it normal to have good days and bad
