My blood test result was perfectly normal. Yet here I am, a screaming, sweating (I don't do sweating), spotty, insomniac wreck Sad. My body and moods are out of control and I have no idea what is going on.

It's like being a teenager again.

Should I have asked for my hormone levels to be tested?

What was the blood test looking for? Sorry for ignorance.
I developed terrible hormonal acne (aged early 40s) which was solved by a herbal remedy called Agnus Castus. Still get vile moods though.

The GP just said they'd take a blood test to see if I was peri-menopausal. I'm not sure precisely what they were looking for, I usually check these things actually Blush.

I bought some Agnus Castus a while back, I'd forgotten to use it though. Might see if it helps my skin.

I don't think the blood tests are terribly conclusive if just done on an ad-hoc basis; they've got to be done on a certain day of your cycle, and then repeated iirc.

My GP never did a blood test or even my blood pressure - just took my symptoms and prescribed hrt.

There still seem to be a lot of GPs out there who think you can't possibly be starting menopause if you're under 50!
