Hi
I am 41 and I have a brca1 gene mutation and to manage my risk of ovarian cancer which has killed off both my mother and grandmother at young ages, I need to undergo complete removal of my ovaries, ideally soon. This will bring on menopause overnight I'm told and I find this prospect terrifying. I have had a bilateral mastectomy already and that decision was a walk in the park compared to this decision. Would love to hear any experiences of managing menopause in this way . Does anyone know of any hrt experts (happy to pay) so I can get some good upfront information. I tried taking the pill on 2 occasions in the past and it sent me bananas. Felt v depressed, put on a stone and both times ended up at gp in desperation as to what was wrong with me (v unlike me) and am worried hrt might be the same but also worried about all menopause symptoms. Thank you in advance

I can PM you some details of experts.

You can't NOT have HRT but you need the right sort.

PMing you now.
