Hi all.
I'm only 38 but think I'm going through the perimenopause. I've been to the doctor who has scheduled me in for a blood test to check all sorts of things. May be TMI but my periods have shrunk to 2 days, and only 6 months ago I was a 5 day sort of girl. I am also VERY moody and depressed. I also have spots for the first time in my life. It would be nice to know there was a reason for my moods, and to be able to do something about it that doesn't involve anti depressants. Would they give me HRT or something to balance my hormones, if it was?
thank you for listening. Cat.

You posted exactly what I was about to Cat.
I'm also 38, major moods, water retention, heavy smelly (sorry eww) bleeds and the most ridiculous spots!
I get three or four mahooosive great spots on my face that take three weeks to go, are painful and leave scars.
A week later new spots appear!
I even get them on my minky. Blush

I'm afraid to go, I hate all the tests and time wasting they do.
Last time they gave me pills to cut short the bleeding but it's sporadic so they don't help!
It's shit Sad

Hi, I went for the blood tests 2 weeks ago and was told by my doctor yesterday that I am perimenopausal. I'm 36 and am a wreck! We have been trying to conceive for a while now and I haven't had a period since the end of March. I have a family history of early menopause, but I wasn't ready for it. All the symptoms of perimenopause are the same as pregnancy symptoms, I feel so stupid! My doctor never mentioned HRT to me, just booked me in for a ultrasound(probably because he didn't know what to do or say to the sobbing wreck in front of him)
I have to go back next week, probably to discuss where to go from here.
My symptoms have been hot flushes, anxiety, palpitations, forgetfulness, periods disappeared, mood swings (I scare myself sometimes) and just total disinterest in anything.
Good luck x
