Week on, week off...

My periods have started to be all over the place. Sometimes, I get the usual cycle, but too often, I am only getting a week of not bleeding before starting again. This is combined with some of the other lovely symptoms, flushes, poor memory, the beard of Billy Goat Gruff....do I just have to get on with it? Will an iron supplement help? TIA

Well I take floradix liquid iron supplement which is a good all round booster but it's not intended specifically for the menopause.

I think the only thing that stops it is hrt?

I'm 40 and for the last 2 years I've been sporadically missing periods, hot flushes, night sweats etc but it's not too bad to cope with yet. As soon as it is I'm off to the quacks for hrt.

Blimey - that sounds crap. I have absolutely no advice (helpful, eh?) but I feel your pain.

I started another period 4 days after my last (perfectly normal, I thought) one finished and it's still going 8 days later - extremely unusual for me as I'm usually a 4 day person.

Have been wandering around MN trying to decide whether this is something to rush to doctor with.

I'm 43, btw so I suppose I just have more of this fun to look forward too Hmm

Have you seen the doc? What did s/he say?

Not been to the doc yet, just checking out whether others have this. Sounds similar Ellie... thanks all for feeling my pain, and agreeing its a bit crap Grin
