Swollen breasts from a week after period...is this normal in perimenopause?

I am just 50, and my periods are starting to get irregular, although the last three have been 'on time' at around 28-30 days. I usually get swollen and tender breasts around five days before my period starts. This month, the tenderness started a week after my period finished, and has continued. My breasts do not really hurt, and I really only notice the difference in the morning when they feel swollen and heavy before I put on a bra. Is this normal? Any advice very welcome!

I have just experienced the exact same thing - I'm the same age as you and my periods are behaving in the same way. A few days after the last one, my boobs grew in size and my nipples are very sore. I googled and it seems to be menopause related but there's not a lot of info.

I am turning into my gran - barrel shaped with a very matronly bosom.

It's your hormones out of kilter! Either too much or too little oestrogen or progesterone at the start of your cycle.
