Hi there

A new menopause support forum has been started recently so that women from all over the world can share their experiences about menpopause HRT and the treatments available.

There are some really knowlegdeable women on there so how about having a look and posting your problem there too?

Been reading for awhile on Mumsnet, first time posting though!

I joined this forum - menopausesupport - the other day. It is still small, but it has some lovely girls chatting on it about menopause and other odds and ends. Input from all over the world! I've already learnt so much about anxiety, depression, insomnia, bio-identicals, types of HRT - patches vs pills vs gel, etc, all in one place. Thanks Bellaciao for bringing it to my attention.

Kelly, x

are these guys medically trained, just wondering if this forum is funded by a pharma? they seem v pro hrt! or am I being unduly cynical?

LonelyLou · 29/08/2012 16:31

Menopause?! On MN?! Why not GN?! I'm only 21!!! not

Breaks out into ANOTHER hor flush Blush

Thank you MN X

LonelyLou Unfortunately some mums go through menopause very early with very young children and for some very unlucky few before they even have a chance to have children. Many of us go through it while still having children at home especially if you have children late like I did - including one at 40 - so it's not funny and women need all the support they can get.

You don't need to suffer hot flushes (unless you have a medical condition which precludes HRT).

Doingmybestmum Re the forum - absolutely not funded by anyone - it's free!! Started by a woman in Australia who responded to a need to provide support to women going through the menopause and beyond.

Yes I would say most on there at the moment are pro-HRT - but what's wrong with that? Anyone who comes looking for support will get it but all views are respected! Come and see for yourself! Cynical you say? Perhaps!

As far as I know no-one is medically trained but some are very well read and knowledgeable on the subject and one has been a research scientist so understands the academic literature on the subject. No substitute of course for going to your own GP - but just trying to help!

Sorry if you thought I was speaking out of turn Bellaciao but I hope, despite the obvious seriousness of early menopause, there are people who like myself are going through menopause trauma and can still take a lighthearted look at life sometimes. Is no one on menopausesupport.proboars.com/index.cgi able to do the lighter side of life stuff then?

Bellaciao · 02/09/2012 09:48

Hi Lonelylou that's OK - yes of course I agree re lighter side of life!! I think it depends on what mood you're in doesn't it? Sorry if I sounded as though I lacked a sense of humour!!
re the menopause forum (menopausesupport.proboards.com/index.cgi ) - they defo look at the lighter side of life too!!! There's a whole Shootin' the Breeze section where women chat on about all sorts of things nothing to do with meno. It's only a small forum atm but seems quite lively to me and women on there are enthusiastic!

How does CBD help in dealing with menopause?
Our bodies naturally possess the endocannabinoid system which directly reacts to the CBD consumed. The ECS is most commonly also related to the estrogen levels in the body because it is supposed to react to the brain receptors for the release of dopamine, a pleasure releasing cell. This means that when the estrogen levels become less in a woman’s body, the ECS tends to help with balancing it for the sake of sanity and a balanced hormonal system.

CBD is in no way helpful for either starting the menopause or delaying it. In fact, it is greatly supportive in dealing with the symptoms to make it less difficult for the women. This means that CBD should be regularly taken from the age of around 40 until the menopause completes its mechanism. The endocannabinoid system proves to be of great help in first reacting with the medically useful properties of CBD and then assisting the women in overcoming with the harsh changes that their bodies go through in the form of a natural system.

Hang on. Who mentioned CBD?

Unburnished · 22/08/2019 07:33

OK, Ive looked at that site and its been largely inactive since 2017 with most content posted in 2013.

I think I’ll stick to Menopause Matters.

Unburnished · 22/08/2019 07:35

Ah! I see! Jamez has resurrected a zombie thread in order to promote his CBD. Hmm

Hello Unburnished! I don't want to promote anything! Just writing in the forum with the idea to help! Here's the en.formulaswiss.com/blogs/menopause/can-cbd-help-with-menopause page. Read Before You Blame. If you do not need someone else may have! I wish you all the best. Good luck to all!

JinglingHellsBells · 27/08/2019 19:25

You are promoting a product @jamezsteve

JinglingHellsBells · 27/08/2019 19:27

Eh? What does 'complete its mechanism' mean ?
@jamezsteve if you are a genuine poster why have you suddenly appeared to flog CBD and why is your post a press release?
