About six months ago I realised my cycle was changing and my hormones were going a bit bonkers. I went to the Doctor who was as helpful as a not very helpful thing and said I was far too young to even be thinking about it.

This week I've noticed a significant shortening of my cycle and as a result have just read a very helpful link on here and realised I do have about 75% of the symptoms.

I should be happy because it explains ALL the weird symptoms I've been having for months and it should stop the anxiety, but...

I'm not ready for this, I'm really not.

(am 40 by the way)

Go back to the docs. I'm 40 too and had been experiencing lots of changes, and went and announced I thought I was perimenopausal. She thinks it's fibroids. Menopause is only one possibility and you need to get other things ruled out, I'm being sent for ultrasound scans and having loads of blood tests.

You need tests to rule other stuff out. I had fibroids that made me think that I was menopausal when I was about 37.
