Hi think Im going through menopause. Advice please.

I've just turned 44 and haven't had a period for around 5-6 months. My mum had hers early/mid 50's and I pretty much figured would be the same.
I had no warning, 26ish day cycle for years but since last oct/nov nothing.
I feel fine and don't seem to have other symptoms just no period.

Feel bit freaked (though know it is normal) but like the passing of an era.

Is this on early side and should I go to G.P even though not having any neg symptoms yet?
