Period every other month. Only one ovary working?

Has anybody else had this? Did you see your GP? What did he/she say? Don't really have other symptoms apart from painful periods, ovulation pain (when ovulating, eg, probably only one side).

47 now. Is this menopause?

not neccessarily 1 ovary- just fewer eggs from either side.
