can you tell when you're starting the menopause when you're on the pill?

Sorry if this is a silly question but if your 'cycle' is being determined by the pill can you tell? (if there's a thread covering this please link, I couldn't spot one that asked this question exactly).

I'm 51 and the pill suits me - keeps the horrendous acne of PCOS at bay. So I don't want to stop before I really have to. I get a flushed face sometimes - esp when cooking - but I've had that for ages anyway because of rosacea.

My DM went through the change at 56, don't know if/to what extent its a heritable trait.

some women take the pill for peri symptoms. I think this is a conversation you need to have with your dr. the hormones in the Pill are more than you would get in HRT, so from a safety point of view - eg stroke etc- it might be worth having a chat and seeing what your options are.

you won't be able to tell if you are mon from your bleeding but you might get meno symptoms because the pill contains estrogen but not for the entire pack.
