I think I may be peri meno and would really appreciate advice about going to the doctors or not.

Background info (sorry may be long!)

Started trying for a family at the age of 33, unfortunately had 3 m/mcs at around 10/12 wks Sad. Following investigations it was found that I had a septum in my uterus, which was operated on as it was thought this may be the cause of the m/mcs.

Following this surgery we continued trying for a baby but had no luck and so was given x3 attempts at IVF (very lucky to get this). First time on low dose and no eggs. Blood test taken on 3rd day of AF and everything seemed fine but upped dose of drugs to maximum and still only got 2 eggs (only 1 fertilised, but no pregnancy).

As I had received the maximum level of drugs the doctor decided to take my AMH level (blood test) and it showed that I had zero eggs left (or vitually) and was advised that IVF would not be continued. Apparently it is very rare to have a normal day 3 blood test but 0 AMH level Confused. I was then advised that I may have an early menopause.

Anyway, I am now just 41 and my periods are all over the place, missing a couple of months at a time. My memory is shot, I get hot at night, have a feeling of ants running up and down my legs after every shower and also I am a bit more erm pongy (sorry tmi Blush).

So do you lovely ladies think its time to go to the doctors for a check-up? and thanks for reading this essay Smile.

Peri meno is not an illness and normally you don't need a dr. BUT if your symptoms really bother you, or you finish your periods completely before age 45, then you should go and talk about HRT till you are 50, to prevent osteoporosis later on.
