Ok, so I'm fairly sure Im peri menopausal.......I'm 39

periods all over the place for last 2 years....26-106 days, sometimes light, sometimes heavy.....

Mood swings, irrational sudden loss of temper.

tiredness, dryness,

Painful ovulation. This month was extremely painful, I was doubled over in pain for a couple of hours......

And now that my period has arrived ( 3 months since last) its been accompanied by fairly constant painful niggles and twinges..... always on the same side.....same side as painful ovulation (if thats what it was)

What could the pains be?

you need to go to the drs- this is not normal peri from anything I've heard form my friends.

you mighthave ovarian cysts, poly cystic ovaries- anything in fact! or even endometriosis.

Go see GP :)

Thanks ladies........

Amazingly managed to get a docs appointment straight away without having to regale the receptionist with a full on explanation!!

The doctor will send me for blood tests and a scan.... She couldn't feel anything but wanted to explore it further....

Hi Jerin,
I've just posted in the really long "Is this the start of peri" thread. I get particularly intense pain when having a bowel movement, but only during menstruation (sorry if TMI!). Could I ask if you ever had anything like that?
Thank you!

Hi leiceserlady

No my pain is pretty much constant. It's been like it for a couple of weeks now at least. More so in the evening although I think that's just because I'm not so busy and I'm more aware of it.

My doctor did ask lots about bowel habits tho so would probably be best to get it checked......

Thanks Jerin,
Yes, I think I'll just pop along to the doc and see what she says
Glad to hear yours is looking after you.
