Period irregularities in perimenopause....advice needed!

I'm 49, with generally regular periods apart from occasional blips. This month my period arrived as usual, and finished as I thought, but there is still some dark brown spotting 14 days after it started, and some very mild cramping. An internet search throws up all sorts of scary ideas, but
I am wondering if this might be normal in perimenopause?

Rest assured- all normal- due to low progesterone- dr can give you pill like mini pill to make it stop if you want. had a friend who had slight spotting every day for ages- hormones.

That's very reassuring - many thanks indeed!
